In honour of Anne Coghlan’s long-time, exceptional leadership and contribution to nursing, a scholarship fund in her name was announced to continue her legacy of promoting safe nursing practice.

This June, CNO welcomes some new faces to Council, and some familiar faces to new roles—like Naomi Thick, who assumed the role of President this month. As President, Thick, along with peers on Council, will provide expertise to CNO’s work, helping to shape nursing regulation and promote safe nursing practices for generations to come.

The second year of the pandemic continued to present extraordinary challenges to the health care system — including to CNO. We continued to address the needs of the system by supporting safe nursing care and registering more nurses more quickly. Now, you can read in our annual report, about all the ways we supported Ontario’s pandemic response in 2021.

CNO’s board of directors, which is called Council, provides oversight, insight and foresight into CNO’s strategic direction. At its June meeting, Council welcomed a new president, seven new members, heard about CNO’s 2021 annual report, and the ways in which CNO is putting our Strategic Plan into action.
