You still have time to tell us what you think about Council’s proposed changes to fees for members and applicants. Send us your feedback by commenting in the appropriate box at www.cno.org/proposed-changes-to-fees. The deadline is Friday, June 1, 2018.
At its March meeting, Council proposed changes to the College's annual membership fee, application fee, PN exam fee and PN exam cancellation fee. These changes will help ensure the College can meet our mandate of public protection and maintain financial stability.
As the regulator of the nursing profession in Ontario, it is the College's job to support public trust of nurses. Paying your annual fee to register with the College makes you a participant in the various aspects of public protection and nursing regulation. This is why we always seek your feedback before Council makes decisions about changes to by-laws, regulation and standards of practice.
Together, you and your College protect the public by ensuring:
-
those who want to become nurses in Ontario meet requirements
-
nurses have standards informing them of their accountabilities to provide safe care
-
nurses continuously improve their practice
-
we amend standards and regulations whenever government changes laws or passes new ones
-
we take appropriate steps when there are concerns about nurses' conduct, competence and health.
